    The trail class tests the maneuverability of your Horse through an obstacle course. Mandatory obstacles include one in which the rider will open, pass through and close a gate. Scoring is based on the horse’s willingness, ease and grace in negotiating the course. The other two mandatory obstacles are riding over at least four logs or poles and one backing obstacle.

    There’s more to showing than accumulating ribbons. Competing has to be fun, too. Even if you leave the showgrounds empty-handed, the day should be a rewarding and pleasant experience. These five suggestions should alleviate the most common horse show buzzkills and ensure that your next show includes a good measure of fun.
